Calvin Groeneweg, RN C-AL, Director of Risk Management
With more than 25 years of experience, Calvin Groeneweg is a registered nurse who carries the certified assisted living nurse designation (C-AL). Calvin joined Magnolia LTC Management Services Inc. (Magnolia) in 2007. He's responsible for coordinating and providing risk management visits at prospective and current Continuing Care Risk Retention Group member facilities, as well as reviewing all reports while maintaining the overall quality of the risk management program. Calvin acts as a liaison between underwriting and members, and co-chairs the Magnolia Claims Committee. Calvin also develops continuing education programs for the long-term care industry and Continuing Care Risk Retention Group members.
Prior to Magnolia, Calvin worked at Summit Medical Center of Oakland in nursing administration, staffing and admissions. He also operated a 44-bed residential dementia care facility for the elderly for 21 years.
Calvin is active within the assisted living industry. He was a member of the Little Hoover Advisory Commission on long-term care and has consulted for various attorneys and organizations representing the interest of resident care. Calvin has continued to serve as the CFO/treasurer for the American Assisted Living Nurses Association (AALNA) and as the president of California Assisted Living Network (CALN), which is an association of owners, operators and professionals concerned with senior issues in California.
